Emerson South Faculty and Staff

Ms. Cindy Brazda

Ms. Brazda is our English 2 teacher. She enjoys vegetable gardening and watching college baseball. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their basset hound.

Mr. Charles Butler

Mr. Butler is our high school computer science teacher. Mr. Butler is teaching Fundamentals of Technology and Fundamentals of Administration. Mr. Butler enjoys being a father to his son. Mr. Butler also is an OU fan!

Mrs. Davina Caddell

Mrs. Caddell teaches Middle School English and history and high school World History. She graduated from the University of Oklahoma and has taught for six years. Mrs. Caddell participates in Pokémon Go and has a cat named Cooper and a dog named Chedder. 

Erica Carrillo Hernandez

Mrs. Carrillo is one of the leads for the ELL language department. She enjoys family time, traveling, and anything giraffe related. 

Sandra Carrillo

Mrs. Carrillo is one of the leads for the ELL language department. She has been in education for eight years. She enjoys dancing, traveling, and eating.

Mrs. Phoenix Cowdrey

Mrs.Cowdrey teaches Environmental Science and Online Learning classes. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma and has taught for eight years. She moonlights as a Mermaid, loves to read, create Cosplays, and hang out with her dogs.

Mrs. Barrie Divelbiss

Mrs. Divelbliss teaches math for the sped department. Mrs. Divelbliss enjoys sewing and crafting when she is at home.

Victor Espinoza

Mr. Espinoza teaches US and World history. This is his eighth year in education. He enjoys soccer, boxing, and upholstering.

Mr. John Hill

Mr. Hill is our high school Algebra II teacher and Senior Sponsor. He is an OU fan and enjoys going to college football and to the beach. He says he is straight, but fair. Ask any of my 15 grandkids!

Amen Holman

Mr. Holman is our middle school math and science teacher as well as an internship class. This is his first year teaching!!

Mr. Joel Jackson

Mr. Jackson is teaching Algebra 1 and Math of Finance. He is married with 3 adult children and one grandchild. Mr. Jackson used to be a former pastor and is now a worship pastor at his church on the weekends. Mr. Jackson loves trivia and karaoke. 

Alaine Myrick

Ms. Myrick is our Art teacher. This is her 17th year in education. She enjoys painting and gardening. 

Kelli Paul

Ms. Paul currently teaches IV and Internship. This is her 26th year in education. She enjoys crafting, traveling, and watching OU football.

Mr. Eric Pevehouse

Mr. Pevehouse teaches high school math and physical education and coaches Cross Country, Basketball, and Soccer. He has been teaching at Emerson North and South for over 15 years. Mr. Pevehouse enjoys being a father, fishing, and baseball.

Ms. Tamesha Rayes

Ms. Rayes teaches English III and IV and offers online learning. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma and has taught for five years. Ms. Rayes is an Air Force Veteran and also has a degree from Langston University. This year, Ms. Rayes coaches cheerleading.

Mr. Drew Rhodes

Mr. Rhodes teaches Government, Oklahoma History and Civics. He is a fifth-generation teacher and he absolutely loves teaching in the classroom. He treats his students like family and always holds them to high expectations every day. He knows the struggles and he will always teach with unconditional love because quality education is capable of changing your life forever. When Mr. Rhodes is not at home. He is a family man, loves watching football and basketball, listening to new/old school music, cooking, and making people laugh.

Mrs. Justine Ritter

Mrs. Ritter teaches English II, III, and IV and leads our Special Education Department. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma and is now in her sixth year with OKCPS. 

Mrs. Tracie Rivera

Mrs. Rivera is our school nurse. Mrs. Rivera has been in this field of career for 28 years. She was a teacher before becoming a nurse.

Ms. Kathryn Todd

Ms. Todd is a Family Consumer Science teacher at Emerson South. Ms. Todd graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma with her bachelor's degree in Family Consumer Science. She is currently working on her Master's in Educational Leadership at the University of Central Oklahoma. Ms. Todd has been at Emerson South for five years. Ms. Todd teaches FACS basics, interpersonal studies, human growth, and development, parenting, and child development, middle school career connections. Ms. Todd is also the advisor for Emerson South's Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) group. In Ms. Todd's spare time she enjoys being with her family, crafts, photography, and cooking. 

Ms. Stephanie Younkin

"I'm the Library Lady." Mrs. Younkin has been with Emerson South since it opened in 2017.
